Game Day Edition - How to increase the profit? (Part 1)

Testing Alt
Each game presents an opportunity for the info to be extended across multiple positions with the same staking position, and the use of the alternative lines where necessary. The alternative lines that we present in the newsletters are not there for just filling out info, they are all lines that are worthy of a look if needed. Sometimes players drop out (which does happen), and sometimes bookies need a certain odds threshold to be obtained before they offer their promotional offering. And sometimes you can go a few extra legs for a little extra on top!

Bear with us as we develop this story, with tickets in hand..

For this example, we will use the Thursday night's game in the AFL between Collingwood and Hawthorn at the MCG (30th April 2026). The NRL ran with their Women's Origin game, so naturally every sports loving individual in Australia was watching the AFL. And the bookies wanted everyone following suit as well, with TAB, Bet365, Sportsbet, Noisy and pretty much every other bookie offering something to get everyone rolling for the weekend early. Big game, big dollars.

The position we had in the newsletter was the following from the TAB offering:

We won't delve into the individual lines as the game summary did that, but that was the best value that we could see for the starting lines. As the game played out, McStay kicked his goal, Maynard got 23 disposals and Newcombe came home with 27 disposals. Comfortable win!

TAB had squeezed us and was only offering a bet return on 4 lines, so we went into the treasure chest and got another of the alternative lines to quench their appetite. Jack Gunston for 10+ disposals? Came through with 13. Ticket below:

Position No.1 with TAB - WIN. Total profit with a $25 unit stake = $40.

Onwards to the next position. Not to be outdone, Bet365 decided it would be a good idea to offer a FREE HIT to most of their customers on the same game, with the minimum odds requirement of $2.00, and 2/3 lines depending on each account. So regardless of the outcome, the stake was going to be returned as a minimum as bonus bets. More of that please.

In these free hit situations, and with confidence in the information presented, we stepped outside of the suggested stake and added in one of the alternative lines again as the worse case scenario was no dent at all to the balance. In went Gunston again and up went the odds to a healthy $3.10. Ticket below:

Position No.2 with Bet365 - WIN. Total profit with a $25 unit stake = $52.50.

Onwards to the final position. Same info, different bookie again. Noisy was very nicely also offering a SGM bet return, with a minimum odds of $3.00 for 1 leg to fail. We delved into the treasure chest of alternative lines again to add in Mitch Lewis for 10+ disposals to break their minimum odds threshold, and got it up to $3.32. Mitch came home with 14 disposals. Well done lad! (The final alternative line was De Goey for 1+ goal - also came through). Ticket below:

Position No.3 with Noisy - WIN. Total profit with a $25 unit stake = $58.

TOTAL PROFIT ACROSS ALL 3 POSITIONS - $150.50 - 6 EXTRA UNITS OF PROFIT!

Same information, same alternative lines, different bookies. An additional 6 units of profit to kickstart the weekend for everyone. Some may even extend this across further bookies that you may have accounts with.

It's hard to quantify the above in the official results, though wanted to share it to show just how much can be drawn out of the info for the astute punters out there! We just run the results on a single TAB account for ease of purpose, but I am sure this was an eye opener for a few of you.

When you have an edge, don't just hit it, SMASH IT. EVERY TIME.

Which leads to the question... how much are the newsletters again?

We will answer it with another question... what noise does the budgie make?

"Cheap, cheap!"
